College Football Week 10 winner: Oklahoma State
You just felt like Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State football would find a way to pull off the biggest win of College Football Week 10, sending Oklahoma to the SEC with a final loss in Bedlam.
We’ll see if the rivalry is ever renewed. I’m sure it will be at some point. Frankly, it should be played every single year as a non-conference game. It won’t be and college football fans will be robbed of another great rivalry.
What’s made it so great or more intense has been the success of both teams. Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma has mattered most years in the Big 12 title race and did this year too.
College football fans might not have realized it, but Oklahoma State football now has the inside track to reach the Big 12 title game. The Cowboys are tied with Texas at 5-1. There are five teams tied at 4-2, but the Cowboys have played them all and own the head-to-head tiebreaker over Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State, and West Virginia.
Iowa State holds the head-to-head over Oklahoma State but also has to play Kansas State and Texas. The Cowboys have three games left against Houston, BYU, and UCF which are a combined 5-13 in the Big 12 this season.
Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State football got a huge win, while also ending the playoff hopes of the Sooners, which has to make it one of the best days of his career in Stillwater.
