Dabo’s revenge and Notre Dame’s failures: College football Week 10 winners and losers

Winner: Michael Penix Jr.

The Washington quarterback only threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns in the 52-42 win for the Huskies over USC. He also had an interception.

But team success matters in the Heisman race and this was another marquee win. Penix Jr. also had some Heisman moments which also matter just as much as the stats.

Penix Jr. has gaudy numbers but the Huskies need to stay in the playoff chase. Now, it feels like they will.

Loser: College football fans that want Alabama to suck

Don’t look now but Alabama football isn’t dead quite yet under Nick Saban. His team has two top-15 wins, as well as a loss to a top-10 team. Alabama is close to clinching the SEC West and if they win out, which would include a win over Georgia in the SEC title game, the Tide will make the playoff.

It might not be a national championship team, but give Saban credit — he’s got his team improving each week as we get close to the SEC title game.
