3. Kansas State (6-3, 4-2 conference)
Kansas State lost this weekend, but they kept it a close game, sending it to overtime against Texas in Austin. Quarterback Will Howard had a statement game, throwing for 327 yards and four touchdowns, with two of them going to wide receiver Phillip Brooks. The game came down to a field goal in overtime, or what should have been a field goal. Kansas State elected to go for it instead, but the Texas defense stepped up and shut them down. Kansas State faces Baylor this weekend at home for a chance to rebound from the loss.
2. Oklahoma State (7-2, 5-1 conference)
After their losses to South Alabama and Iowa State, everyone left the Cowboys for dead. Now, they come into week 10 with a single conference loss and quality wins against Kansas, Kansas State, and now Oklahoma. The final Bedlam game was a thriller in Stillwater. Quarterback Alan Bowman controlled the offense, throwing for 334 yards. Running back Ollie Gordon, the 4th time winner of the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Game, ran for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cowboys travel to Florida this week to play UCF.
1. Texas (8-1, 5-1 conference)
Another Big 12 game that went into overtime, but the Longhorns pulled out the win. Kansas State was a formidable opponent, but Texas remains at the top of the Big 12. Their one loss comes to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, but they have won every game since. Quarterback Maalik Murphy started for the injured Quinn Ewers and threw for 248 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Their best offensive players were running backs Jonathon Brooks, CJ Baxter, and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, who combined for 351 yards and 3 touchdowns. Texas controls its fate at the top of the rankings and faces TCU this weekend in Fort Worth.
