Maryland’s poor placement on the schedule goes beyond PSU

Something that makes matters even worse for Michigan is the fact that the Terrapins don’t just follow a pivotal game on its slate, but also precede one, as Week 13 is home to the iconic rivalry between the Wolverines and Ohio State.

All rivalries are tough, but when one is a consistent headliner, shared with a team that currently sits as the top-ranked in America, and essentially decides who wins the Big Ten, it’s safe to say that it has more on the line than most others. With the Wolverines having all of this in mind, there’s virtually no way they can avoid overlooking Maryland to at least some degree.

But through it all, I know that there are still those who doubt (if not completely laugh off) the idea of Maryland pulling an upset so impactful out of its hat, and I get that; while everything we’ve covered so far is valid, it all points to something that is purely hypothetical.

The long and short of it is that there’s nothing that confirms a direct grasp being held on how Michigan will ultimately fare against the Terrapins. The closest we could get to such would be by seeing how the powers faced off against each other last year, and we don’t have that option—oh wait, yes we do.
