New Year’s Six Bowl projections

Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio State

Orange Bowl: Alabama vs. Louisville

Fiesta Bowl:  Washington vs. Penn State

Peach Bowl:  Tulane vs. Oklahoma

Thoughts on New Year’s Six Bowl projections

There is a bit of a shake-up with our New Year’s Six bowl projections, as Oklahoma State notched a big win over Oklahoma and then fell flat on its face. The Sooners are still 8-2 and if they win out, should have a good shot of playing in a New Year’s Six Bowl game.

However, we moved things around to create a juicy matchup in the Cotton Bowl between Texas and Ohio State, while flipping Alabama to the Orange Bowl after what we project will be a loss to Georgia in the SEC championship game.

Washington will head to the Fiesta Bowl and the Huskies will meet Penn State there once again. The two teams played after the 2017 season in the Fiesta Bowl and this will have the feel of a Rose Bowl matchup, just in Tempe.
