2. Sam Hartman will play turnover-free football

As aforementioned, Sam Hartman will be feeling all sorts of emotions on Saturday. As such, I’m expecting Hartman to put in perhaps his most concise performance of the 2023 season. The veteran quarterback will be sharp on his throws at all levels — short, intermediate, and downfield.

In addition, thanks to his Joe Moore Award semifinalist offensive line, Sam will be properly protected which will allow him the necessary time to dissect coverage looks en route to carving up the porous Demon Deacon defense.

In the end, Hartman will refrain from turnovers in this one, a stat that’s now become an unexpectedly rare occurrence since the turn of October. According to Sports Reference, Hartman has turned the ball over in three of Notre Dame’s past four games, including seven thrown interceptions during the four-fixture span.
