3. Irish will cover the 24.5-point spread

Whilst thy Gold and Blue have dropped three games this season, their 7-3 mark against the spread, according to Covers, is rather impressive.

To put this stat into context, the Irish have outperformed their game-to-game analytic performance expectations at a better clip than No. 1 Georgia (4-6), No. 2 Ohio State (5-4-1), No. 3 Michigan (5-4-1), No. 4 Florida State (6-4), No. 5 Washington (4-5-1), and No. 7 Texas (4-5-1), as well as matching No. 8 Alabama’s 7-3 record against the spread.

In addition, when the Irish win, the team is 6-1 against the spread, and that includes beating some teams with bloated numbers such as -49 (Tennessee State), -21 (Pitt), and -20.5 pts (Navy).

As such, I predict that Our Lady will cover the 24.5 points and improve to 8-3 against the spread this season.

Lastly, as previously mentioned the defense will be stout, holding the Demon Deacons to single digits, whilst the Irish offense, led by Sam Hartman through the air and Audric Estime via the ground, will leave the Winston-Salem institution in its wake.
