If there was any controversy surrounding Georgia jumping to No. 1 last week over Ohio State, there isn’t anymore.

The Bulldogs went on the road and put the hurt on Tennessee. I mean, the game wasn’t even all that close outside of a Volunteers touchdown on their first play of the game. It was all Georgia after that.

I finally put Carson Beck in my Heisman Trophy power rankings this past week and that’s where he belongs after a near-perfect performance in Knoxville. The Volunteers were the No. 17 team in the nation but Beck carved them up and looked like a Heisman frontrunner.

Again, Georgia rag-dolled the Volunteers on their own turf on Saturday evening and it was a sight to behold.

No, this Georgia program has not taken any steps back.
