Because the non-Top 25 field is not very good, I think we’re going to see North Carolina remain in the Top 25 this week because the Tar Heels’ loss at Clemson was only their third of the season. The committee is going to show Mack Brown and Drake Maye some respect at No. 25.

W 49-25 vs. UMass. Liberty Flames. player. 2382. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Last Week: NR. 24

How the heck is Liberty not being ranked? The Flames do play an easy schedule, but now they’re 11-0 on the season after picking up a 49-25 win over UMass. This team just continues to get the job done and Jamey Chadwell is going to get some phone calls this offseason.

Well, for a few minutes, it looked like Tennessee was going to have Georgia on upset alert, but that quickly changed. A 7-0 lead quickly vanished and Georgia raced to a 38-10 win over the Volunteers to remain undefeated. Tennessee falls to a disappointing 7-4, but I think they’ll still hang on to one of the last spots in the rankings.

How’s this for a twist? I didn’t think I’d be saying that UCLA would be in the rankings at this point in the year while USC was nowhere to be found, especially with questions at quarterback, but here we are. After beating USC 38-20 on the “road” this week, I think UCLA jumps back in and the Chip Kelly hot seat talk cools down.

Tulane had another tough conference test on Saturday, heading to FAU for a showdown with the upset-hungry Owls who needed a win to stay in bowl contention and the Green Wave staved off another upset-hungry team — this time it wasn’t close. For weeks, Tulane has been hovering around No. 24, but I can see it moving up this week.
