Early on, it was looking like Oklahoma State was going to fall victim to an upset at Houston, but a comeback near the end of the first half stretched into the third quarter as a halftime deficit turned into a 43-30 win. Mike Gundy’s team just continues to exceed expectations with an eight-win season.

Kansas State had one of the best wins of the week, going into Lawrence and picking up a big win over in-state rival, No. 25 Kansas. This one came down to the final few minutes and Kansas State scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter and Kansas could never respond. This was a big one for Chris Klieman.

Sam Hartman got to face his former team on Saturday afternoon and he took full advantage of the opportunity to put up some numbers on the struggling Demon Deacons. He finished with 277 yards and four touchdowns as Notre Dame won 45-7 to improve to 8-3. There’s still a chance the Irish could earn a New Year’s Six bowl.

No one has ever said that any Iowa win is “pretty” and Saturday’s victory over Illinois was certainly just more proof of that. The Hawkeyes were trailing for most of the game, but a late touchdown saved the day as they took down their SEC West foe in clutch time. Iowa fans are glad that this is the last year of Brian Ferentz even if they’re playing for a Big Ten title.

Oregon State is going to take a little spill this week after blowing an opportunity to pull off a huge upset over No. 5 Washington. The Beavers hung in there and had a chance to win in the end, but the Huskies were just too much. If you love sloppy, rainy football, you would have loved this 22-20 slobber-knocker.
