College Football Rankings 2023: Projected playoff Top 25 for Week 13
LSU had no problem with Georgia State in Death Valley on Saturday night. Like most of the rest of the SEC, the Tigers got a non-conference non-Power Five foe in Week 12 and, also like the rest of the SEC (minus Auburn), they took care of business. Jayden Daniels helped his Heisman hopes with 413 yards and six touchdown passes while rushing for 96 and two more scores in a 56-14 win.
If Jedd Fisch isn’t careful, he’s going to have every single open job calling him over the next few weeks. After a 42-18 win over Utah, the Wildcats look primed to play for a Pac-12 title this year which is amazing considering they were one of the worst Power Five programs before he took over. This turnaround has been incredible.
Oklahoma had yet another scare which seems to be a weekly occurrence for this team, but the Sooners eked out a road win over BYU. The Cougars and Sooners traded blows for three quarters, but Oklahoma got the last laugh and will remain in the top 15 because of it.
Ole Miss had one of the most quiet games of the day as the Rebels dominated UL Monroe 35-3 to improve to 9-2. It wasn’t a crazy impressive win and it wasn’t a disappointing performance. Just a solid game for the Rebels to set up another potential 10-win regular season.
The panic button was at the ready for Penn State fans after a sleepy first half and 10-6 lead heading into halftime. But the Nittany Lions came out of the locker room and dominated. They finished the game by blanking Rutgers in the second half to win 27-6. Not the prettiest win, but it was a nice bounce-back after last week’s demoralizing loss to Michigan.
