As the College Football Season Starts to Wind Down, the Drama Picks Up

Every year around this time, tensions in the college football world run high. Not only is it Rivalry Week, but teams are fighting for playoff contention, coaches are coaching to save their jobs, and programs are battling for bragging rights.

This season has been a whirlwind of excitement, from Colorado taking the college football world by storm for the first month of the season, to Alabama trying to make a late playoff push, to new faces such as Washington and Florida State lingering around those ever so coveted College Football Playoff positions.

As we head into Rivalry Week, there are matchups up and down that slate that have significant implications for one reason or another, none bigger than the showdown in Ann Arbor with Ohio State traveling to Michigan.

1. Alabama Will Roll Auburn in Iron Bowl

In the world of college football, there are few things that are as feared as taking on an angry and motivated Alabama football team.

And that’s exactly what Auburn is up against.

Admittedly, the Crimson Tide decided to wait until the middle of October to start playing their best football, but they have won their last 4 games against Tennessee, LSU, Kentucky, and Chattanooga in convincing fashion.

Coming off of a terrible loss to New Mexico State last week, Auburn is a team that has struggled to find their identity on both sides of the ball this season.
