2. The Guaranteed Rate Bowl

Some may know this bowl as the Cheez-It Bowl, the Cactus Bowl, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, and the list goes on. This year, it’s the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The game takes place in Phoenix, AZ at Chase Field.

The only thing that changes more than the name of this bowl, is the conference tie-ins. This year, the Guaranteed Rate Bowl will feature teams from the Big Ten and Big 12. This could mean an offensive shootout as Rutgers would have to keep pace with the Big 12 style of play: Score a lot, and don’t play much defense.

Rutgers football last played in this game back in 2005, when it was known as the Insight Bowl. The Scarlet Knights lost that one to Arizona State in an offensive slugfest, 45-40.

Arizona in December certainly would be nice. The Scarlet Knights could help themselves this weekend with a win against Maryland.
