1. USC

It’s hard to bet against USC and head coach Lincoln Riley in the transfer portal. The Trojans added Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison a couple of years ago, as well as a bunch of key additions during the last offseason, although things didn’t work out on defense as expected this season.

At any rate, Riley is known as a QB whisperer. Ryan Day has that reputation as well to an extent, but not quite like Riley, who also needs to win in 2024.

I have no idea if Cameron Ward would prefer playing on the West Coast or at Ohio State, but either place is the Big Ten. Both coaches have had multiple quarterbacks selected in the first round and each program should be in the mix for the 12-team playoff next season.

I could see Cameron Ward at USC or Ohio State, but it’s hard to know. Maybe the Buckeyes told Kyle McCord to hit the transfer portal because they have a good feeling that Ward is going to wind up as their quarterback.

Next. Good riddance to the 4-team playoff. dark

You never know how things will come together, but I’d be surprised if Cameron Ward was playing somewhere besides Oregon, Ohio State, or USC next fall.
