5 under-the-radar bowl games college football fans should watch
By Zachary Levy
1. Potato Bowl: Georgia State Panthers vs. Utah State Aggies
The day before Christmas Eve, fans are presented a Christmas present a little early with seven games on the schedule including the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The bowl participants are the Georgia State Panthers and the Utah State Aggies. This game is going to be on ESPN at 3:30 under the lights at Albertsons Stadium in Idaho.
The Panthers’ offense has three key players, quarterback Darren Grainger, running back Marcus Carroll, and wide receiver Robert Lewis. These players have combined for 2,463 yards of the 4,470 total yards as a team. These two teams have struggled on the defensive side this year especially, the Panthers who gave up 18th most yards and fourth in passing yards. The Aggies are bringing in a receiver that ranks 20th in receiving yards and tied for 14th with 10 touchdowns named Jalen Royals. Will the Panthers find a way to stop their opponent and have their key players step up for victory? Are the Aggies bound to make Big Blue carry the flag across the field?
Fans will probably be seeing a very high-scoring ballgame and who would not mind seeing a lot of fireworks before Christmas?
With college football coming to an end, fans will continue to see players and coaches and hear commentators continue to fall in love with the sport of college football. With falling in love with a sport, you can fall in despair just like teams who lose these games as well but, knowing that you were named to a bowl game is an honor in itself.
Make sure to tune in to all of the bowl games and enjoy time with your family during the most important time of the year, college football playoffs!
