4. Cameron Ward

Cameron Ward is one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the transfer portal. I’ve written that Ohio State would be an ideal fit. However, it’s unclear if there has been any contact between Ward and the Buckeyes.

Nebraska football is among the teams in pursuit of Ward but there is no shortage of suitors according to Pete Nakos of On3.com. USC, Oregon, Florida State, and Miami are among the other schools in the mix along with Nebraska.

However, the Huskers are one of the teams in the mix for a visit. If that happens, you’d have to think that Nebraska would have a real chance.

Ward is a guy that has thrown 48 touchdown passes over the past two seasons for Washington State. The talent level is probably similar and Nebraska is in the Big Ten. But I have a hard time seeing Ward choose that option over Ohio State or USC — even Florida State.

Not only can he win a national level, but also get the kind of QB development he’s probably looking for before trying to test the NFL waters in 2025.
