Duke:

The Blue Devils had a great start to the season, as they started 5-0 and ended the season 7-5. Not the exact way that Duke fans wanted the season to go after a hot start. And then they lost their head coach, Mike Elko, to Texas A&M.

This will be an easy decision; the answer is quarterback Riley Leonard. During the 2023 season, Leonard threw for 1,102 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 352 yards and four touchdowns. Although those stats do not look that good, the ones who watch college football would know that he got hurt in the loss at home against Notre Dame, and the season was not the same.

It has been reported that Leonard took a visit to Notre Dame and has plans to visit Auburn and Ohio State. I would imagine that he still ends up at Notre Dame, but Ohio State being interested has to be very tempting.

Florida State:

I will not speak about Florida State’s season that much, but it would have been fun to see a healthy Jordan Travis in the college football playoff. But we will never know what could have been. Anyway, the Noles had a great season, and it ends with an Orange Bowl appearance against Georgia, which could have easily been a playoff game.

Back on the transfer portal front, the best player in my eyes is an offensive lineman, and that is Bless Harris. Since joining the Seminoles from the transfer portal in 2022 from Lamar, Harris has been a big part of Florida State’s success in rushing the ball. Harris played tackle for Florida State; tackles are not easy to find. He battled injuries during his time in Tallahassee, but he has a bright future ahead of him.
