3 Reasons Michigan Football Will Beat Washington
It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for. The national championship game day is here. This title game is unlike any other game. Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies will get it on tonight. Two teams that are long overdue for a championship.
Michigan football hasn’t won a national title since 1997. Washington hasn’t won a national title since 1992. But only one team will be raising the trophy by the end of the night and have a parade. Here are the three reasons why Michigan will beat Washington.
McCarthy Will Outduel Penix Jr
Much respect for the season that Michael Penix Jr is having. It’s one of the best performances that you could ever see in a single season from a college football player at a quarterback position. Penix Jr is a passing yard machine. In his 6th year, he may or may not get the last hurrah, but I feel that McCarthy will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. It’s Michigan against the world. McCarthy deep down has a big pride in silencing many people who doubt him. After his performance against Alabama, you should have some respect for his name. However, capturing a national championship before going to the NFL Draft (if he doesn’t return to Michigan football next season) will have people praise him like never before and people won’t doubt his heart and toughness anymore.
Jim Harbaugh Will Make the Right Adjustments
Coach Harbaugh knows what it takes to get the job done. Any team he has coached, he has taken them to a certain level. He just needs to win the big prize. Before winning it all, you have to learn from your failure. We see this historically in sports. In Jim Harbaugh’s case, he will be ready to coach his tail off for this game. He has experienced enough losses and has gotten so close to the ultimate prize. This is his time. He needs this one. After everything he has endured in his coaching career, especially this season, this is destiny for him and the Wolverines. The man is fearless. He will have his players ready for every possession of this game.
Michigan football pass rush defense will make an impact
Defense wins championships. We see this game as coming down to the wire. A lopsided game? No way Jose. We don’t see that happening. Michigan’s pass rush defense will be the catalyst for how this game will conclude. We know how dangerous Michael Oenix Jr and the running back position can be. Therefore, the Wolverine's defense will set the tone and will slow down any momentum that Washington will start to gain. The Huskies' defense is solid but the Wolverines will figure out a way to neutralize the Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback.
