Defeated Central Michigan Chippewas 49-48 in Bahamas Bowl

Bobby Petrino may have left, but the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers didn’t lose their high-powered scoring offense this year, particularly in the passing game.

But honestly, it was hard to put Brandon Doughty on his list despite his amazing performance, which also came with 0 interceptions, because his team almost blew a 49-14 lead to Central Michigan. This was the notorious comeback game that finished with that epic touchdown and then failed two-point conversion at the end of the game.

The defense was bad, but what was also bad was Western Kentucky’s inability to score in the midst of the furious comeback.

Still, Doughty’s performance through three quarters was enough to put him on this list. Putting up 5 touchdowns and nearly 500 yards for 49 points was very impressive.
