Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was a highway hero after helping an accident victim on I-94 on Tuesday.

Jim Harbaugh is already being counted on rescuing the Michigan football program after he was hired last December to restore the pride at his alma mater, and he’s already showing his heroic side off the football field.

Harbaugh and football operations director Jim Minick came to the aid of two women who were in a car crash on I-94 Tuesday afternoon.

They provided first aid to the 53-year-old driver and her 73-year-old passenger who suffered non-threatening injuries, but the driver was nearly ejected out of her window after the vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop on a snow embankment.

Scary situation for the two women who were involved in the one-car accident, but thankfully Harbaugh and Minick were there to be good citizens and even offered up their coats to keep the women warm as they waited for the police to arrive.

All in a day’s work for Harbaugh who takes over at his alma mater after four years with the San Francisco 49ers where he made three trips to the NFC Championship Game and one trip to the Super Bowl.

Harbaugh came in third place in the 1986 Heisman Trophy voting after leading the Big Ten in passing in his senior season. He was a first round pick of the Chicago Bears and played 14 years in the NFL before embarking on his coaching career.
