Even as a power run conference, the Big Ten still has lots of playmakers. Here are the Top 10 Big Ten wide receivers for the 2015 college football season.

The Big Ten wouldn’t come across as a wide receiver conference given that so many teams are built around a dominant offensive line, a tough running game, and game-managing quarterback play.

But do Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson ring bells? This is a conference historically loaded with skill players, particularly at wideout, and with Urban Meyer, James Franklin, and now Jim Harbaugh in the conference, these star skill players are only going to increase in numbers.

More from Big Ten

Even right now, the Big Ten has a decent bit of wide receiver talent coming into this year. Unfortunately, there is not really anybody that glaringly sticks out, so the top receivers in the conference had to be picked from a cluster of pretty good players.

That’s really hard because in the case of wide receivers, numbers never tell the whole story.

After all, a receiver could be buried in the depth chart because of the talent on the team. A receiver could be a No. 2 option on one team when he’d be a No. 1 option anywhere else. Or, the talent pool is so deep that even if a receiver is a No. 1 option, he’ll still have to share the wealth.

With all of this, it takes the eye test and how much a quarterback’s play appears to be elevated with a receiver to be able to determine just how good he is. And that’s difficult.

Nevertheless, there are ways to analyze it. So here are the Top 10 Big Ten wide receivers entering the 2015 college football season.
