Oregon Ducks tease new glow in the dark uniforms (Photo)

Known for their eye-grabbing Nike uniforms, it seems the Oregon Ducks are ready for a new era with potential new 2015 uniforms that would take their reputation as trendsetters to another level.

Even casual college football fans can identify the Oregon Ducks not only for their recent appearances in the national spotlight as contenders for the National Championship out of the Pac-12, but for their Nike uniforms that always set them apart from the rest of the country. The football program never scared to take advantage of their relationship with Nike to stay ahead of the curve in seeing what they can get away with on a football uniform.

Blurring the line between stylish and cool to at times hideously flashy, the Ducks teased potential new uniforms that are almost so futuristic that they might be unlikely. Teasing a poster on Monday that shows potential glow in the dark uniforms that would look really cool during night games at Autzen Stadium.

Using the #WinTheDay slogan, the Ducks teased a video last week of a player slowly coming on screen via a glow in the dark jersey before releasing a glow in the dark poster with shoulder pads that literally light up in the dark. Which either is a nice photography trick or Nike and Oregon toying with the idea of yet another concept uniform.

Glow in the dark on a football uniform is almost too futuristic to pull off, even by Nike and Oregon football standards where the Ducks have recently worn jerseys with such bright shades of green that they may as well light up in the dark on their own.

Throw in the fact these uniforms would likely only glow in the dark during pregame introductions it seems like a longshot that we will ever see the Ducks actually try to pull off wearing luminous gear, even if it would only continue the proud history of Oregon wearing jerseys that nobody could imagine except for their program.
