There were two huge stars in attendance for the Northwestern Wildcats game against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus were in attendance for the Northwestern game against Penn State as the two megastars enjoyed a win from their alma mater.

Martin, was in attendance to receive an alumni award from the Medill School of Journalism, according to his Live Journal blog. But he’s also a noted football fan, so I wonder what he thought about Pat Fitzgerald’s team getting the 23-21 win with a field goal coming with nine seconds left in the game to get the win.

That’s the type of drama fans of Game of Thrones have come to expect, but thankfully there were no Nittany Lions or Wildcats sacrificed to the Lord of the Light, stabbed by the watchers of the wall, tortured by the Bolton’s or made to be dragon food for Daenerys Targaryen.

Meanwhile, does the five-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series get younger every day? She looks just as fabulous as she did now as she did when she was Elaine on Seinfeld more than 20 years ago.

She’s won the Emmy four years in a row for her role as Selina Meyer on the HBO comedy Veep and I think what all HBO viewers and fans of Game of Thrones and Veep need now is the crossover episode.

Let’s make it happen HBO. Give us a 90-minute episode of Veep of Thrones!

I’d watch it and you know you would tune in for that too.

I think she would have some more political savvy than the Mother of Dragons, but could use some council from Littlefinger and Varys to form the ultimate cabinet that no one would dare question.
