With the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos playing in the Super Bowl which colleges are represented the most on the two team’s rosters?

It’s going to be Cam Newton vs Peyton Manning in Super Bowl 50 after the Carolina Panthers dominated the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game and after the Denver Broncos survived after a failed two-point conversion with 12 seconds remaining to defeat Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Much will be said about the former Auburn quarterback playing the former Tennessee quarterback as this will be the first time since 2007 when Manning led the Indianapolis Colts against the Chicago Bears and former Florida quarterback Rex Grossman that two SEC quarterbacks met in the Super Bowl.

However, it’s a Big Ten school that has bragging rights for Super Bowl 50 as the Ohio State Buckeyes have the most former players on the rosters with six, which is two more than Manning’s Tennessee Volunteers and (surprise!) the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Here is the full list of colleges with the most players on the Super Bowl 50 rosters:

Ohio State – 6
Georgia Tech – 4
Tennessee – 4
Alabama – 3
Arizona State – 3
Auburn – 3
Florida – 3
Georgia – 3
Notre Dame – 3
Oklahoma – 3
Oregon – 3
Oregon State – 3
Boise State – 2
Coastal Carolina – 2
Colorado State – 2

And with the Buckeyes flooding the 2016 NFL Draft with early declarations, there is a good chance next year’s Super Bowl will feature a few Ohio State alums.

How about Oregon State having three former players on the roster, the same amount as football powers like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon and Notre Dame and Coastal Carolina having two players on the Super Bowl 50 rosters, the same as Florida State.
