Notre Dame Football released some slick new uniforms for the ‘Shamrock Series’ matchup against Army on November 12.

Fresh alternate uniforms are something every fanbase pines for. However, when you have a classic look — like Alabama, Penn State or Notre Dame — switching it up never really sits well with the older crowd.

On Friday, Notre Dame Football released its ‘Shamrock Series’ uniforms, made by Under Armour which will be worn during its Nov. 12 game against Army at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. What do you think?

See, I would think these are a slick new look for the Irish for one game, but the gold on the helmet doesn’t match the accents in the jersey kind of ruins it for me.

Not to mention the classic colors of blue and green are no longer present as an olive green shade dominates the uniform. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably like it more when they show it off on national TV, but it just looks like someone mixed the darks with the lights in a load of laundry and everything came out a different color.

Brian Kelly’s Fighting Irish will begin the season at Texas and will host Michigan State two weeks later. The schedule won’t be an easy one for the Irish, but there’s a good chance they could be undefeated heading into this mid-November contest against Army with these bizarre uniforms.

They’ll have to get through Texas, Michigan State, Duke, Stanford, Miami and Navy in order to sit at 9-0 heading into this contest.

They’re going to hope that these jerseys are the most disappointing occurrence of the 2016 season.
