Where in the World is Reggie Bush’s Heisman?

Reggie Bush’s name was removed from the Heisman annals in September but the actual bronze statue remains at large. The Dan Patrick Show reported today that Bush’s Heisman Trophy still hasn’t been returned to the Heisman Trust. A Heisman Trophy isn’t exactly a set of keys, so it’s doubtful the award’s hiding beneath a baseball cap in Bush’s home.

So where in the world could the trophy be? Heisman Trust President William J. Dockery may have to venture into a booby trapped cave deep in the Amazonian rainforest and exchange a sandbag for the trophy. Tattoo parlors in Columbus are allegedly treasure troves for college football memorabilia. Or maybe the E! Network has a ratings hit on its hands, as Bush tries to regain the trophy from Kim Kardashian. A rite of break-ups is the never-easy exchange of property, and the Heisman Trophy must be the big-time college football equivalent to a letterman’s jacket.

Equally as curious is what the Trust plans for the trophy when, or if it’s recovered. Vince Young won’t receive it. Maybe a national tour akin to the Stanley Cup’s is in order.
