Links at Lunch: Rambo’s Heartache, Rice Award, Failed Drives
By Kyle Kensing
Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo is as tough as they come on the football field. But no amount of on-field toughness can prepare any athlete for the anguish of losing as child, as the Atlanta Journal-Consitution‘s Chip Towers wrote in this gut-wrenching feature. In his game since Rambo’s son Braylin past, he intercepted two Ole Miss passes and helped lead the Bulldogs to their first SEC victory. Said Rambo to the AJC:
"“I just said a little prayer every time before I went on the field. And I could hear his voice say, ‘I’m watching you, Daddy. Go Daddy. Make me proud.’ It just motivated me.”"
Baby Braylin will get to look down on his daddy making plenty more big plays this season. SaturdayBlitz.com’s friends at CollegeFootballZealots called for a breakout year from Rambo, and he’s certainly delivering.
