It’s Friday, which means Big East football is afoot. Through its ascent into annual bowler, USF has never quite adjusted to road games. Conversely, Syracuse was notoriously awful at home last season. Something has to give tonight in the Carrier Dome. The Bulls’ run of consecutive postseasons dating back to 2006 is in serious jeopary, as USF is winless in the conference and needs two more victories with Miami, Louisville and West Virginia still to come. The welcomed distraction of football diverts some attention from the Penn State scandal for those of us outside the Nittany Lion family. But is playing Saturday the right move? There are those who believe a cancellation would only serve to further punish current, and innocent PSU players. Further, it’s a step toward normalcy as Penn State seeks to escape the darkness, per Tim Hyland.
