The Big 12 Conference and the Mountain West Conference each announced new agreements this week in the new bowl alignment starting in 2014.

The Big 12 announced a six-year agreement with the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando, Fla. that will give the Russell Athletic Bowl Committee the selection of the second team starting in 2014. The agreement will run through 2019 and pair the conference with the first available team from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Russell Athletic Bowl will receive the second selection of available teams after the Alamo Bowl.

The MWC announced on Wednesday that it had reached an agreement with the Idaho Potato Bowl played in Boise, Idaho that will also begin in 2014 and will be between the MWC and the Mid-American Conference. As a part of the deal, the bowl game would be owned and operated by ESPN, the eighth bowl game to be operated by the network.
