When the Penn State Nittany Lions took to the field on offense against the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, all of the attention was clearly focused on whom the quarterback under center was going to be. All eyes were fixated on Christian Hackenberg–who was that chosen one–but not on leading receiver Allen Robinson. Apparently, they should have been.

The Lions’ leading receiver was noticeably absent from the offensive unit for the first few series of the game. Well when people obviously started asking questions, we were eventually provided with an answer.

According to PennLive, Robinson was suspended by head coach Bill O’Brien for “disciplinary issues.” It’s still unclear as to what those issues exactly were, but we do know that Robinson will not be seeing the field today against Syracuse because of them.

Robinson is one of the more highly touted receivers in the nation, as his emergence was one of the main reasons for Penn State’s unexpected success last season. He hauled in 77 passes last year for 1,018 yards.
