Georgia RB Todd Gurley sprained his ankle at the end of a long second-quarter run. He did not return for the Bulldogs before halftime.
Georgia coach Mark Richt told CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson that he didn’t know whether Gurley would get back into the game. CBS immediately showed Gurley in street clothes on the sideline, signaling that he will certainly not return.
Gurley gained 73 yards on eight carries and caught a 13-yard pass. RB Keith Marshall has been his usual productive self, running for 70 yards on nine attempts.
Behind the strength of a balanced offense and a surprisingly strong rushing defense, Georgia leads LSU 24-17 early in the third quarter.
