Wide receiver Shaq Roland is out for South Carolina’s non-conference showdown with UCF today, TheBigSpur.com reported.
The Gamecocks face a very interesting test in this rare, road trip at this juncture of the season. UCF is undefeated, including a win at Penn State in Week 3.
Roland is South Carolina’s top big-play receiver through three games with an over 20-yard per reception average. He was on the receiving end of quarterback Connor Shaw’s season-opening bomb against North Carolina.
South Carolina’s passing attack could be the key to attacking a surprisingly stout defense. The Knight are outstanding against the rush, but gave up 143 yards to Penn State’s star wide receiver Allen Robinson.
