South Carolina is down another offensive player, this time No. 2 running back Brandon Wilds. The Gamecock reserve suffered an elbow sprain on a play wherein he fumbled.
Wilds also took a knee to the head on the play, though his removal from the lineup is reportedly unrelated. He joins starting quarterback Connor Shaw, who was sidelined with a shoulder strain, and wide receiver Shaq Roland. Roland did not make the trip for violation of an unspecified rule.
Brandon Wilds’ absence leaves the workload on feature back Mike Davis, who gashed the UCF defense through much of the first three quarters. Davis had 12 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown at the time of publish. Wilds rushed five times for 31 yards.
The Gamecocks overcame a scoreless halftime and 10-point deficit to pull ahead 14-10.
