Texas ceded momentum to Iowa State in the first half of Thursday’s Big 12 Conference showdown, falling behind 13-10 just before intermission.
But quarterback Case McCoy responded with a heave very unlike the short passes offensive coordinator Major Applewhite called much of the way. McCoy’s 44-yard touchdown heave to wide receiver John Harris with time expired recaptured the lead and gave the Texas offense hope heading into the locker room.
Here is the video via ESPN Texas:
The Longhorns’ two, first-half touchdowns came on plays of 44 and 45 yards. Running back Johnathan Gray broke a long rush to the end zone on the game’s opening drive, but the Texas offense sputtered since.
