Oregon TE Colt Lyerla has decided to leave the football program, the school announced Sunday.
Lyerla, who was suspended for Saturday’s game against Colorado, left little wiggle room for his decision, withdrawing from school as well.
The junior told GoDucks.com that he intends to pursue a professional career rather than trying to transfer to another program.
Lyerla finished with 13 career TDs, including one this season.
TEs Pharaoh Brown and Johnny Mundt are expected to see extended playing time with Lyerla no longer on the team. Mundt has caught 7 passes for 162 yards and 2 TDs this season.
