Minnesota coach Jerry Kill, in conjunction with the university, announced Thursday that he will take an indefinite leave of absence.

Kill suffers from epilepsy, which causes regular seizures. The coach has suffered five seizures on game days since taking over as Gophers coach in 2011.

Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will take over in Kill’s stead.
