South Carolina lost the number one overall draft pick in the NFL and finished second to Missouri in the SEC East last season. But Sports Illustrated that those losses and underperformance should stop anyone from selecting South Carolina as the favorite in the SEC East.

SEC coaches would seem to agree with the idea of South Carolina being the team to beat in the East, picking them narrowly over Georgia and Florida. It should be noted the confidence in the Gamecocks isn’t too high. The same poll has them distant favorites to win the SEC, and Georgia was right behind them, too. So while Carolina is favored, saying they are some sort of
