  • Despite the suspensions and academic scandals, Larry Fedora and North Carolina have a lot to be excited about this year with a very young team that is on the cusp of competing for the ACC Coastal division title. The successful future starts first by naming a quarterback between Marquise Williams, who was very efficient in half the season last year, or Mitch Trubisky, who shows much more promise and raw talent. Liberty is not a bad team to figure your offense out against.

The Flames under head coach Turner Gill were pretty decent last year, going 8-4, and have shown improvement both years he’s been there. Another year and this could become a very good FCS team. They will be a good measuring stick for North Carolina and could make this interesting with the distractions facing the Tar Heels this week.

    Prediction

North Carolina will win and win easily, but it will be ugly. The Tar Heels will be dealing with the distractions of the suspensions, the cloud of academic fraud hanging over the program, and the issue of still finding a starting quarterback. Oh, and this is still a young team. Still, the game won’t be close for long.
