  • The Dave Clawson era begins at Wake Forest. That’s exciting news for the future, but not for this year. Clawson’s teams always take about three years to fully adjust to his new system, and this time he walks into a program that is down in the dumps of the ACC. There’s not much to expect from him this year, and that’s why this road game against Louisiana Monroe is a big question mark, something that would be certain with other major teams.

Louisiana Monroe is coming off a 6-6 season and loses quarterback Kolton Browning, which is a major hit for the program. Finding a replacement could hinder a loaded team this year, but the Warhawks have enough to get back to 6 wins. A win against Wake Forest would be a great start en route to that.

    Prediction

This is going to be the ugliest Wake Forest team you’ve ever seen, and it will show on Thursday. The Demon Deacons have to be able to adjust to Dave Clawson’s system, especially on offense, and that won’t happen for a while. Expect them to lose and for the Warhawks to cover the spread.
