SOUTH DAKOTA STATE KEY: This is an early season money game for South Dakota State so the key here is to get out of Columbia healthy and with 60 minutes of good experiences so they can move on at play well during the remainder of the season. A victory here would be very impressive should they be able to pull it off.
MISSOURI KEY: Mizzou is 13-1 in season openers under Gary Pinkel, including winning their last 13 in a row. Taking on FCS opponents will help build up that record and it should aid in continuing their strong early season starts.
Matty Mauk will be taking over for departing quarterback James Franklin, but maybe more importantly the Tigers will be replacing Kony Ealy and Michael Sam on the defensive line. A lot of the Tigers success last season game from their ability to rush the passer and control the line of scrimmage so the development of Markus Golden and Shane Ray will be important.
