Blitz Points: Hill, Gurley Among Week One Top Performers

10 of 11

Ronald Martin and Jalen Mills, Safeties, LSU

These two had to go together because of the crucial plays they made Saturday and the success of the LSU secondary. Ronald Martin was the leader of the secondary, making Tanner McEvoy and the Wisconsin Badgers passing game look awful, going 8 for 24 with 50 yards and 2 interceptions. That made the Badgers one-dimensional, which caused the second-half collapse as the LSU offense got going. Most importantly, the senior came up with a big play too after an interception in the fourth quarter to protect the Tigers’ 28-24 lead. Jalen Mills was a game changer too, and he came up with a major interception as the Tigers were down 24-21 to set up the game winning touchdown. The two of these guys together anchored a secondary that was the biggest reason for the Tigers comeback win, so they earn Blitz Points together.
