Kenny Hill, Quarterback, Texas A&M
As much credit as Kevin Sumlin deserves for proving that he is not a guy who rode Johnny Manziel to success, the guy who stepped out from under Manziel’s shadow Thursday night as Texas A&M’s new quarterback also deserves success. Kenny Hill showed arm strength, accuracy, and decision making that was as good as anything Manziel ever showed at Texas A&M. He also showed the numbers, throwing for 511 yards in the Aggies’ 52-28 victory, more than Manziel had in any game throughout his college career. Whether or not he can live up to the hype remains to be seen, but for now, “Kenny Football” is a growing nickname in the College Station community.
