Yes, in a stunning move, the Mountain West Conference jumped the American Athletic Conference during the first week of the college football season. Why does a conference that only went 6-6 over the weekend deserve this kind of love? Because it didn’t run from competition.

    So what if these teams didn’t have good showings for the most of these games? They put them on the schedule, which is always a huge plus. And the fact that Colorado State won their game and Hawaii almost scored a major upset, this conference is right now the best of the non-Power Five conferences.
