  • What likely would have been hyped up as a very exciting Week 2 SEC match-up has now turned into an expected dud. Ole Miss looked ugly in the first half of its game against Boise State as Bo Wallace was practically looking for interceptions to throw, but things calmed down in the second half, and the Rebels managed to win in convincing fashion. The defense, Wallace, Cody Core, and Laquon Treadwell are all reasons for Rebels fans to be very excited about this team. The offense really got it going in the second half against the Broncos, and the defense played typical SEC football.

  • Meanwhile, the Vanderbilt Commodores could be in a world of trouble. A fall-off from James Franklin’s departure was expected, but a blowout loss at home to Temple was not. Now critics are already questioning if Derek Mason was the right hire for the program. The Commodore faithful can take solace in the fact, though, that their team had 7 turnovers and all but gave the game away to Temple. But still, a blowout loss like that never should have happened. It shot down any encouragement that might have existed with those pesky Vanderbilt Commodores.

    Prediction

Vanderbilt is honestly not as bad as it looked last week, but Ole Miss is equal to what it looked. The Rebels and Commodores fight out an ugly first half before Ole Miss pulls away and wins somewhat comfortably in the second half.
