  • The Alabama Crimson Tide will obviously be looking to make a bigger statement after struggling more than expected last week against West Virginia. It appears the spread offense ran effectively is the Tide’s weakness on defense. On offense, they still have to figure out the quarterback situation. Blake Sims appeared to be good enough to handle the burden with the exception of a few mistakes, but perhaps Jacob Coker should get in some to show what he can do. Luckily, the running game seems set, and the offensive line certainly looked better in the first game than it did at the end of last year. This is the perfect weekend to figure out the quarterback situation as the Tide have what should be a sure-fire win against a team that is still decent.

The Florida Atlantic Owls are coming off an awful 55-7 loss to Nebraska, and what better way to follow that up than with a road game against Alabama? Well, for a low-level mid-major program, that is worthy of lots of respect. Clearly the Owls don’t back down. Remember this is a team that was 6-6 last year and is looking to build off that this year, so while playing Alabama may be a loss, it is great experience and a great developing moment for the players.

    Prediction

Alabama will finally get the blowout it was looking for last week, and Florida Atlantic is in for another long day. The Tide will use both quarterbacks, and both will put up nice stats, but the running game will once again be the difference after two 100-yard rushers against West Virginia.
