Thank you Big Ten, for saving this college football weekend. While the rest of the Power Five conferences have managed to fill their schedules with cupcakes that could rot the Tooth Fairy’s teeth this Saturday, the Big Ten has an exciting slate chock-full of exciting, non-conference match-ups that we all love seeing at the beginning of the year and will make our Big Ten Predictions lots of fun.
We get to see a great Big Ten-Pac 12 game that will determine conference pride and could be the difference in a college football playoff berth when Michigan State plays Oregon. That would almost be enough, but the conference didn’t stop there. Ohio State has also put itself on upset alert with a night game against a very good Virginia Tech game that could become an exciting ACC-Big Ten match-up.

But the most exciting part of this weekend is bittersweet. The Rivalry between Michigan and Notre Dame draws to a close in an exciting match-up between two programs fighting to prove they are still among college football’s elite. We will want to watch that game as much as any game.
The Big Ten was mildly impressive last week, with Wisconsin and LSU proving the elites in the conference are on the same level and Rutgers stunning Washington State. The conference is looking to move back into the Top 2 slot of the Power Five with the SEC where it belongs.
