The Purdue Boilermakers didn’t show many signs that they would be much better in Darrell Hazell’s second year after struggling defensively against a very bad Western Michigan team last Saturday. They luckily managed to pull out the win thanks to great rushing offense, but Hazell likes to play clock management, special teams, and tough defense to win games. That wasn’t the story last week.
Now Central Michigan comes to town, who should be better than Western Michigan but struggled with Chattanooga last week. The Chippewas would like to rely on winning the same way Purdue would, so who comes out on top?

Fortunately, the Boilermakers will be able to play a little more defense and still rely on their rushing attack to make plays, so they should come out with a victory, which already means an improvement in Hazell’s second year. This will be an ugly win, but Purdue will get it.
