Vegas ACC Predictions
Richmond at Virginia
Mike London’s fifth year at Virginia had Cavaliers fans hopeful that he would turn the team around with so many returning starters and some close losses last year. An opening season loss to UCLA now has fans encouraged that it might happened, because Virginia would have turned that 28-20 loss into a win were it not for key turnovers. Now, with the defense not much of a problem, the offense has to correct itself. If the Cavaliers offense can fix the turnovers issue, this could be a very good season. If not, this could turn into another disaster. The problems have a chance to be corrected this week against Richmond.
With the First Pick
The Spiders are an FCS team looking to return to success after going 6-6 last year and opening this season with a win. They’ll be coming in not looking to simply play well, but to try for the upset. Virginia has to be on its heels for this game. A loss ends any chance at a bowl.
Predictions
The Cavaliers will win in an ugly blowout. The offense still has to improve, but this is a very good defense. Turnovers may still be an issue, but it won’t matter this time, as the offense will find plenty of ways to score and Richmond won’t move the ball.
