Vegas ACC Predictions
Gardner-Webb at Wake Forest
Dave Clawson’s first game as head coach with the Demon Deacons did not go the way he would have liked after a 17-10 loss to Louisiana Monroe, but that should have been expected. Clawson’s offense is going to take at least a year to get going, so this year is pretty much a loss. Honestly, nothing the Demon Deacons do matters this year. Literally, nothing. But at least they get a potential win Saturday when Gardner-Webb comes to town. This game could determine if Wake Forest can make it to 3-9 this year (major sarcasm here). My apologies to all fans in Winston-Salem but nothing is going to come of this year, so enjoy this game for the sole fact that it’s winnable.
Gardner-Webb has a decent FCS program that went 7-5 last year, but it lost to Furman last week. Still, it may be good enough to give this developing Wake Forest a game, but could it steal a victory from them?
Prediction
Wake Forest will win this game in ugly fashion. Gardner-Webb will never seriously threaten, but the Demon Deacons will not look good in the process of rolling over them.
Wake Forest: 28 Gardner-Webb: 7
