Vegas Big 12 Predictions

No. 4 Oklahoma at Tulsa

Line: Oklahoma by 24.5

Oklahoma looked like a top 10 team in its 48-16 romping of Louisiana Tech last week, but it wasn’t perfect. Trevor Knight threw for 253 yards and a touchdown but only completed 19 of 34 passes and had an interception. Samaje Perine and Keith Ford looked good, but not great at the running back position. The defense looked great but might have a depth issue after surrendering two fourth quarter touchdowns. Those issues will have to be improved upon this week as the Sooners have an in-state opponent riding high on momentum.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane had a remarkable double-overtime win against Tulane Saturday in which quarterback Dane Evans had 438 yards and 4 touchdowns. With Tavarreon Dickerson leading the way, this group also managed 154 yards on the ground, so they’ll be hoping to exploit some of those depth issues on the Sooner defense. The Golden Hurrican defense, though, will have trouble as it is not great at stopping the run, which is Oklahoma’s strong suit on offense. To win this game, it’ll have to match Oklahoma score for score.

Prediction

Tulsa will put up some yards and points, but it won’t be much of a factor. Oklahoma will run the ball down their throats and force a few turnovers on defense to make this a blowout.

Oklahoma: 42 Tulsa: 17
